We’re thrilled that you’re interested in contributing to Unpopular Opinions! To ensure we maintain the highest quality and stay true to our bold vision, please be sure to follow the guidelines above. We can’t wait to see what you bring to the table!

We welcome bold voices to contribute essays, opinions, experiences, or comments that align with our magazine's concept of questioning norms and sharing unapologetic, unfiltered perspectives.

Here's what we're looking for:
 

Writing Style
 

• Bold, unapologetic, and thought-provoking: We love pieces that spark conversation, challenge the status quo, and trigger deep thought.

• Engaging and relatable: Whether it's an essay, opinion, or experience, it should connect with readers on a personal level.

• No fluff: Get to the point and keep your arguments sharp and clear.

• Conversational tone: Make it feel like you're talking to a friend but with substance.
   

Word Limits
 

• Comments or Essays: Up to 800 words.

• Opinions or Experiences: Up to 1,200 words.
  
  *if you do not know the differences between these pieces without having to think, there is a high chance, your piece will not be considered.
   

Content Guidelines
 

• Ethical and journalistic integrity: Cite any sources you reference. Ensure they are reputable and follow ethical journalism standards.

• No AI-written or AI-edited pieces: We value authenticity and human thought—leave the AI out of it.
   

Additional Media
 

• Memes, Photography, Videos, Audio: Add some flavor to your piece. We love multimedia additions that support your argument or experience.

• Audio Submissions: If you’re submitting an audio piece, ensure it's clear, concise, and free of fillers like "uh" or "um."

• Podcasts & Interviews: These are also welcome, especially if they fit recent topics we've featured.
   

Characteristics of Each Type of Submission
 

• Essays: Structured, analytical, and exploring a theme or argument with depth and clarity.

• Comments: Short, snappy, and insightful takes on a current event, movement, or social trend.

• Experiences: Personal narratives that tie into broader societal themes. Should be real, raw, and relatable.

• Opinionated Articles: Strong, well-argued perspectives that are unique and challenge conventional views.
  
  We pay 0,20 USD per written word if we publish, we'll get in touch with you first if we are interested. Audio, podcast and other media submission are subject to negotiation.
  
  We only consider submissions made via the form (Only available in the Desktop version of this site). We only accept opinionated pieces. If your piece is relevant and fearless, we’ll feature it. Just remember to keep it sharp, honest, and unapologetically you!
